Human-centred design explores how people think, act and feel, to inform how we design solutions that meet genuine human need.

The Elements Kit customises human-centred design tools in a system that helps individuals reflect on their life experiences so far, in order to plan an ideal future. It gives us clarity on who we are and what we need most.

Human-centred design emerged as a recognised practice with a host of supporting tools, to take the guess work and assumptions out of how we design for people.

Instead of supposing what humans need, we go out into the field to engage with real people and collect real data that tells us how people actually respond or behave. We then design to cater for their needs.

For example, ethnographic research takes us into the lives of others, to walk a mile in their shoes and observe the way they think, act and feel in their natural environment while they go about their daily activities. This might be at work or at home. It might be on public transport or at a sporting venue.

We document the highs and lows of the experience in a visual journey along a timeline, paying particular attention to where the challenges or ‘pain points’ occur. We then use this information to design appropriate solutions.

“One's own self is well hidden from one's own self; of all mines of treasure, one's own is the last to be dug up.”

The design solution might be a product like an app that helps people navigate to a destination, or it could be a service like a healthcare system to support human wellbeing.

The Elements Kit uniquely customises human-centred design tools that are typically used for designing products and services. Only this time, we’re designing the most important thing of all - your life.

The Elements Tools are a journey of self-discovery where you map and observe your own experiences for clarity and context, and begin to see things from a fresh perspective.

It enables you get to the bottom of who you truly are, and bust the myths and fictions you may have created around your identity.

By recognising more about your patterns of behaviour, and your unique creative identity, you can unlock a world of possibility for your future direction.

Combining human-centred design with the language of archetypes, The Elements Kit is a powerful system to change your life.
